Bowtie Willie What I enjoyed about this album is that there was a consistent feeling or mood. Definitely an album that you put on your car and go for an easy going, intimate drive. I would def consider this to be a "day date" album, and it invites conversation.

Listen with the intention of being fed, this isn't a "quick listen" and you can tell the type of crowd he's pulling are people who want to exhale for once in their life.

I feel like I heard this album in a movie at an intro or the end of a movie. Favorite track: Waiting Wading.

When you left all I could see Things that would never be Times I hid times I did What they expected of me What to make with no certainty What to take when it’s just a tease How to wake when there’s no we there’s no we How I lost part of you That only you would see through How I lost part of me That only you would see How to move when there’s no space near How to choose when there’s no fear How to lose when you’re not hear Our bones know it’s not time but depth Fuck failing this whole test Oh i’ll be waiting wading forward I’ll be waiting fading from here I’ll be waiting wading on you

Nerve Ending 03:31
Wish I could know You see me grow Wish you could feel Wish I could heal Dreaming of the time I loved you Dreaming of a time I lost you Dreaming of a time I loved you Dreaming of a time I lost you But in this moment I swear I can't feel you So would you stay away like this so I can heal you Oh in this moment I swear I can't feel you So could you stay away like this so I can heal you

You know better than I Can’t find the why Losing you by my side Loving me trying to hide You know better than i But would you let it slide If it was from the other side Loving you through all my pride You know better than i Take my time before I say I’m fine I’ll take my time before I say I’m fine Wideawake I'll hide away I'm wide awake I’ll hide away Wideawake I'll hide away I'm wide awake I’ll hide away Wideawake I'll hide away I'm wide awake I’ll hide away Wideawake I'll hide away I'm wide awake I’ll hide away

Body Roles 02:40
We’ve been down Down around Lead in ground I've been down Months keep blowing Babies keep showing A moon keeps glowing My niece keeps growing I miss my cousin Called a homeless felon But he's a deep truth tellin They don't hear him yelling My Grandma’s born a Jew The other was the glue Two matriarchs at heart I sat in and learned my part My uncle is a lawyer but he's paying his employer Grandpa fought on a destroyer I'll chop wood and be a sawyer My mother’s making peace Loving Father made the cheese My sister she's healing And me I'm in my feelings Grieving men keep fighting Trauma keeps writing A cloud holds lightning A human brain is frightening My body knows pain My body knows pain My body knows shame My body knows change My arm don't know If it's time to go If it’s time to go My arm don’t know Months keep blowing Babies keep showing A moon keeps glowing My niece keeps growing

Come on folks listen in There's morning glories glistening More stories to be swimming in Come on folks listen in Divine energy's mimicking All capital is limiting Come on folks listen in How could we be fickle when Our government's killing them Blood money not trickling Wounded men still bickering Free Palestine it's sickening Our family's not listening Colonial conditioning Trauma knows flows sinking in Colonists not mentioning The same roots we were just questioning Need more than lay heckling Empty platitudes of beckoning Come on folks listen in There's morning glories glistening More stories to be swimming in Come on folks listen in

about

I recorded this album alone in my attic over the past year with the 5 working instruments in my house. I fumbled through self-recording experimentation until I let this batch of songs - spanning from past years up to a few weeks ago - be final. Songs that have existed for more time in fragments on paper and phone memos than in their current versions here. Learning how to record in solitude created space I hadn't taken for myself in many moons. Space in my attic where I let grief love pain joy fear judgement ego all lie together in some incoherent pattern that is healing. This project was my attempt to process my growth and grief over the past few years of my twenties.
I appreciate you taking time to listen and resonate.

about

Sela Cleveland, Ohio

i recorded my new album 'Nerve Ending' alone in my attic over the past year with the 5 working instruments in my house. i love melodic harmonies & rich sonic texture & hand percussion & vulnerable words. i write about living with chronic pain, unraveling white supremacist culture and healing cyclical trauma. oh yeah and love too.
i appreciate you supporting my first project here<3
